INSPIRED MONEY & A STITCH IN TIME JOIN FORCES

A Stitch in Time and Inspired Money are two Western Australian organisations that strive to make a significant impact in the communities they service, and today they have announced a new partnership between INSPIRED MONEY and A STITCH IN TIME.

The partnership will centre on a partnership which will assist A Stitch in Time deliver their evidence-based programs to Sporting Clubs/Organisations and providing community engagement opportunities with a Speaker Series facilitated by A Stitch in Time

INSPIRED MONEY Director and Co-Founder Conrad Francis said that he was proud to be aligning with A Stitch in Time and assisting with the facilitation of the vital work that A Stitch in Time delivers.

Greg and the ASIT Team are doing an amazing job with the resources they have. Given the financial impact caused by mental health and wellbeing issues we just wanted to help them reach more people. In Australia, one in five people are impacted by mental health conditions, with almost four million Australians suffering from a chronic or episodic mental health condition every year we, at Inspired Money, there needs to be a focus on supporting and improving mental wellbeing and preventing the root causes that lead to mental health conditions. Approaches to promoting mental wellbeing and reducing mental health conditions need to be seen as both essential and should be complementary and we see this partnership as an opportunity to help tick both of these boxes” Mr. Francis said.

Through this partnership ten sporting clubs/organisations will complete 4-Tiered Mental Health & Wellbeing Program which will educate participants in the importance of mental health & wellbeing, foster positive psychological wellbeing, and provide participants with a suite of tools and techniques that can be utilised to increase resilience in times of disruption and change, and assist in their own personal growth & development.

A Speaker-Series will also be launched to create engaging and insightful opportunities to continue educating Western Australians on the importance of Mental Health. The first ‘Speaker Series’ event will be on the 25 November 2020.

A Stitch in Time Founder Greg Hire said the organisation is delighted with this unique partnership.

“Responding to mental health issues and doing more to prevent the onset of mental health issues in young Australians is everyone’s responsibility. Through our programs we want to reduce the stigma of mental health issues and promote mental health and well-being for our sporting communities”

By creating a Speaker Series and being in front of Adminstrators, Coaches, Players, Volunteers and Members means we are in front of people who can make change. Sport provides an invaluable opportunity for connection, and looking back at my own life, being a part of a Basketball Team provided structure in my life which is something I needed. We can continue educating individuals not only the importance of Mental Health, but also provide tools and techniques on how they can manage their wellbeing and feel comfortable in supporting others”

If you or your sporting club is interested in registering for this program please send us an email on admin@stitchintime.org.au
