Foundational Workshop: Rising Up

Our Rising Up workshops are funded by Telethon so that they are delivered at no cost to schools.

Our foundational workshop helps students develop emotional resilience and enhance mental well-being by exploring key areas such as physical health, emotion regulation, self-awareness, and connection. Students will learn how physical activity improves mood, promotes better sleep, and supports relaxation. They will explore emotion regulation techniques and self-reflection strategies to identify their "best self" and challenge negative behaviours. The program also provides tools to manage anxiety, fear, and negative thoughts.

Finally, it emphasises the importance of connection and support, helping students identify their support networks and the value of belonging.

Taming the Angry Ant

Facilitator: Brad robbins

Anger can mask a range of other emotions, like fear, sadness, hurt or shame, but unfortunately because anger is so overt, these feelings don’t get explored.

In this workshop, students will learn the importance of expressing all emotions, get an understanding of the root cause of anger, be aware of their own triggers for negative emotions & learn a variety of techniques to manage anger and other negative emotions before they become
uncontrollable

The Toughest Opponent

FACILITATOR: GREG HIRE

A powerful presentation that gives students a real, behind-the-scenes look at life in elite sport - while opening up important conversations about mental health, identity, and resilience. With honesty and humility, Greg shares his personal journey, highlighting the pressures he faced and the strength it takes to speak up and seek support.

This session goes beyond sport. It’s about helping young people navigate big emotions, build self-awareness, and feel less alone in what they’re going through. Designed to complement wellbeing programs or leadership initiatives, Greg’s story leaves a lasting impact and creates space for meaningful reflection and discussion

Talk is Cheap

FACILITATOR: MICHELLE PARTRIDGE

This workshop helps students explore their identity, build leadership skills, and foster positive relationships. Through engaging activities and discussions, students reflect on their values, learning how their actions affect others. The workshop emphasises empathy, respect, and communication as key to healthy relationships, while also teaching the importance of consent and setting boundaries.

Students will understand the harmful effects of bullying and how to support others in a respectful way. By the end, they will see leadership as making a positive impact through actions and communication, leaving with tools to create inclusive and empathetic environments.

The Compassion Code

FACILITATOR: FAYE JOLLY

In this engaging workshop, Faye takes a deep dive into the inner critic. We investigate what it is, why it exists, and how to quieten it. Through interactive discussions and practical strategies, students will learn to limit self-criticism and replace it with self-compassion.
Students will be provided the appropriate tools to enhance their self-worth, confidence, and
performance in school, sports, and life.
